The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is getting VR support, meaning PC players can finally get up close and personal with their favorite moments in this RPG.
Forget big screen displays and obscene refresh rates, even if they rate highly in our monitor reviews. We all know that the only way to experience an anime-inspired RPG is with a full-dive headset, right? While the thought of fully immersive VR RPGs isn’t quite here yet, NIS has confirmed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie will get its own VR support. Due to launch across PC and console in summer 2023, the latest Legend of heroes installment is a return to the Erebonian Empire and its surrounding states. Despite the heroic efforts of previous adventures, a new danger awaits as the Grandmaster unfurls the third stage of a master plan.
For veterans of the Legends series, VR support means players who have already fought off the Great Twilight will be able to get to know new-and-returning playable characters up close and in an immersive way. The three central protagonists of this tale will give even more points of view as potential heroes dip into two specially crafted sections.
Anybody with a VR headset on PlayStation 4 or PC can try out the “Beachside Vay-Cay” scenario and the “SSS Summer Splash” DLC in VR. The rest of Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie will not have quite the same depth to it and can be played as normal. PlayStation 5 owners will have to sit out this opportunity but can still pick up some of the Limited Edition packs that include the game, artbooks, add-ons, and an adorable trio of character plushies.
