Dr. Featus’ Mean Meat Machine Arrives in June

Dr. Featus’ Mean Meat Machine is set for a meateoric launch when it comes to PC and console on 22 June 2023.

Thunderful, Headup and Team Meat just announced that this trio of delectable studios are set to serve up a platter of the weirdest match-4 gameplay that money can buy when Dr Featus’ Mean Meat Machine launches on 22 June. The newest in a growing Super Meat Boy series is far from the usual jump and splat scenario that fans of a muscular hero have come to expect. This new adventure brings together a familiar oddball sense of humor with a strategic match-4 puzzler that won it acclaim across the recent Summer Games Showcase.

Now you’ll be able to pick up where Super Meat Boy Forever left off. The nefarious Dr. Featus has already formulated a plot for sweet revenge, but there are some kinks to work out. After sampling some of the tender hero DNA, he has started pumping out clones of Meat Boy. Some are, however, aren’t exactly prime cuts and a series of dastardly difficult challenges await to weed out the chaff. Along the way you’ll need to guide these clones through familiar Super Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy Forever locations like the picturesque forest, the hospital, and salt factory. While familiar soundtracks buzz away in the background, 100 hand crafted deathtraps, or levels, await. You’ll need to think quick and try not to slice off anything valuable, all in an effort to make it out and take on an epic boss fight at the end of each world.

“On June 22nd, people are going to get their mitts on Dr. Featus’ Mean Meat Machine and kill a ton of Meat Boy clones, most likely by accident.”, said Team Meat co-founder Tommy Refenes. “People are going to have a great time trying to group clones together to create matches while dodging the obstacle hell we’ve designed for them. Match 4 puzzle games don’t normally have saws, but that’s why this game f***ing rules! Our latest weird baby is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC! I can’t wait for everyone to play it!”

I can’t really argue with that. While there’s a couple of weeks before this makes it onto storefronts, you can check out the gameplay in the latest trailer and find out more on the official website.

For those of you who I’ve not met yet, my name is Ed. After an early indoctrination into PC gaming, years adrift on the unwashed internet, running a successful guild, and testing video games, I turned my hand to writing about them. Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
