Netflix and the Coalition have announced that Gears of War is set to get a new adaption that includes a live-action feature film.
16 years after the very first Gears of War game landed on consoles, Netflix released news that fans of the shooter franchise might very well be wary of. The online streaming giant and The Coalition are set to bring the Gears universe to life with a series of projects. In a press release and social media update, the duo confirmed that we would get a live-action film followed by an adult animated series — with the potential for more stories to follow!

We have not been given any more detail on the upcoming additions to the streaming series, so don’t expect a release date, storyline, or cast quite yet. Even IMDB doesn’t have much to go on.
While DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, Arcane, Castlevania, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and other Netflix animated escapades give us plenty of hope for the follow-up, live-action is always a tricky proposition for any video game. For every Tomb Raider, there’s an Assassin’s Creed out there on billboards. We will just have to wait and see if Marcus makes it out of this new adventure or if the Gears of War live action outing takes a lancer early on. For now, find out what video game entertainment is available over on the Netflix website.
