Genshin Impact is about to unlock a whole host of summertime activities, and we all got a sneak peek in the recent Preview program.
In July, players venturing out into the hugely popular online adventure that is Genshin Impact will get a chance to take on some exciting new gameplay modes and high season activities. Developer Hoyoverse gave each of us a first-hand look at what to expect with the latest Version 3.8 Preview program over on the official YouTube channel.
The new livestream confirms that we can expect an aptly named “Secret Summer Paradise”. This a limited-time area full of new open-world gameplay, summer attractions, and bountiful rewards. The latest open world are to drop into the ever expanding regions of Tevyat is called the Veluriyam Mirage. It’s a mix of high hills, forested valleys, dark caves and open to explore in two game modes. The Choo-Choo Cart ferries passengers throughout the area with exciting roller-coastering experiences and the Preprint mode will teleport people into a two-dimensional world to unlock hidden puzzles and treasures. While in this new region, expect to collect Joyeux Vouchers to redeem for those rewards.
Four summer special events and attractions are dotted across the new Veluriyam Mirage. The “Spino Blaster” features a water cannon shooting game, while “Dance of Flashing Thought” provides more combat challenges for players. Whether you choose to collect tokens or take [art in challenges, there are lots of prizes to be won throughout the festivities. Kaeya gets a new outfit, while players will get the chance to recruit Layla for free. There’s even more incoming for anybody with plenty of time on their hands too.
We also got confirmation that Genius Invokation TCG also embraces more content, including a new PvE mode “The Forge Realm’s Temper: Endless Swarm” that features endless waves of enemies within a limited number of rounds, and three new Character Cards: Candace, Yanfei, and Kaedehara Kazuha.
If all of that isn’t enough information, you should absolutely go back and watch the live stream for a glimpse of the urban and underwater views around Fontaine. While we haven’t had a chance to drop into this area yet, the realm of the Hydro Archon potentially holds a huge new chapter for this massively popular game.
