As Classic continues its vanilla-flavored journey, a new patch for Battle for Azeroth aka WoW Retail is rolling out, bringing in a conclusion to War Campaign, new quests, Bee mount for the Alliance and much more. Below we have a list of modifications that will allow you to keep up with the new stuff in style.
As a X.x.5 addon, 8.2.5 likely does not feature as much content as the “full” patches do, the likes of 8.1 and 8.2. Thus the list below is mainly oriented at streamlining your daily activities such as doing World Quests, scrapping gear and collecting new shinies.
Items & Achievements
Easy Scrap & Auto Sell Grey & Repair
During your adventures in the new patch, you are sure to accumulate huge amounts of items – both gear and grey vendor trash. Auto Sell Grey & Repair allows you to take care of the latter in a quick fashion by automatically selling grey items whenever you visit a vendor. If the merchant is capable of doing so, the addon will also have them repair your gear.
Easy Scrap, true to its name, streamlines the process of scrapping BfA gear, allowing you to automatically load 9 fitting items into the scrapper at a time.
Rarity / All The Things!
Rarity tracks how many times you have tried to obtain various rare items such as mounts, battle pets, toys, etc. with the function to add your own items into the modification. You can also use it to be able to tell at a glance if the given alt has done their run of a raid or dungeon instance for the sweet shiny you are trying to achieve yet.
All The Things is aimed at people who want to have literally everything in the game: achievements, mounts, titles and even pieces of transmog. This modification offers the interface that shows what items are missing from your collection and where you can get them.
TradeSkillMaster / Auctionator / Auctioneer
This trio of modifications enhances the Blizzard Auction House interface both for the casual auctioneers and for hardcore goblins who wish to streamline their profit-making.
TradeSkillMaster (TSM) also includes a variety of suits that can streamline other WoW processes such as Crafting, Destroying, Mailing, Vendoring and more. The modification also analyses items’ prices, the cost of crafting and much more.
Overachiever
Overachiever adds new tabs to WoW’s Achievement Interface that add new functionality such as Search, Suggestions, Watch, Related and more. The modification also provides tooltips and reminders for objectives you find in the world or your bags.
Transmog
We all know transmog is the true WoW endgame. A dashing look coupled with a noble steed and a stalwart companion is all that separates your usual murderhobo from a true Savior of Azeroth.
Can I Mog It?
This modification provides a helpful tooltip on whether or not you have learned an item’s appearance (across account), how much more items you need to complete a set.
MogIt
MogIt allows you to build up your database of transmoggable items by entering different characters into the world, compose and save transmog sets, share them and mark the items to add them to wishlist to form your own line of items to hunt down.
Narcissus
Narcissus is an innovative character’s equipment frame (paper doll) which is designed for presenting your toon in a unique way and, most of all, providing an immersive game experience.
Notice that this add-on is not a substitute for the conventional paper doll, it creates a completely independent frame. It means you can still use the old one at any time you want, and it is compatible with other UI addons like AzeriteUI, ElvUI.
Quests
BtWQuests
This modification provides a quest journal that shows your progress within quest chains in a simple and easy to follow manner, showing not only your current quest but also all the future quests in the line, how they all connect and other quest lines they lead to or require.
World Quest Tracker / World Quest List
These two modifications provide an addition to the existing WoW interface to streamline the process of tracking and filtering World Quests, their rewards and more. If you are not using one of those, you are really missing out.
Champion Commander
Champion Commander shows you the chance of success of BfA table missions, automatically composes teams. There are also OrderHallCommander and GarrisonCommander modifications that provide similar features to Legion’s Order Halls and WoD’s Garrisons respectively.

Performance
Deadly Boss Mods / BigWigs Bossmods
We currently don’t know if patch 8.2.5 features any new instances, be it Dungeons or Raids, but if you wish to improve your performance, one of the above is a must-have. Both BigWigs and DBM trigger alert messages, timer bars and so forth during the boss encounters to warn you about what is going to happen.
Details! / Recount
Similar to the above, Recount and Details! aim to help players improve their performance by demonstrating DPS, Damage Done, Healing Done, Damage Taken, Interrupts and much more. Both are extremely helpful tools to analyze fights and figure out where things can be improved.
Skada features the same functionality.
Pawn & AzeritePowerWeights
Pawn helps you find upgrades by telling you which of the two items you are comparing is better for your specialization of choice. 80 Mastery or 100 Crit? Which one is greater for your spec? This addon will help you find out.
AzeritePowerWeights takes it a step further and assigns a scale to Azerite Traits on your Azerite Armor (Helmet, Chest and Shoulder pieces). Combining the two addons will allow you to choose optimal pieces of gear out of your collection.
Pet Battle Addons
PetJournal Enhanced
Pet Journal Enhanced provides the basic Pet Battle Journal with new features such as showing predicted pet stats, breed information, additional filters and sorting and much more.
PetTracker
PetTracker displays the locations of all pets, stables and tamers on the world map, tracks your Battle Pet progress, shows the rarity of the pets in battle and warns you of upgrades and much more.
Battle Pet BreedID
Battle Pet BreedID is a standalone addon that will display the Breed of any pet in a variety of situations.
Rematch
Rematch allows Battle Pet enthusiasts to save and load teams per target, manage and automatically slow leveling pets, search for abilities and find counters and so much more. Wowhead hosts an extensive guide to this addon if you want to see it in action!
Misc
Altoholic
Altoholic is a modification for players who dedicate a lot of their time to multiple WoW characters and want to have as much information about them as possible in one place. The addon allows you to easily track your alts’ banks, gear, currencies and so much more.
Opie
OPie provides players with an action-binding wheel, which allows you to stuff things like Hearthstones, mount icons, profession buttons from your main interface to make it truly minimalistic.
Addon Control Panel
This modification allows you to manage your addons in game, with an interface which looks similar to the blizzard addon manager. ACP will help you deal with the “Clutter” that multi-part addons and libraries introduce by displaying your addons in logical arrangements. ACP has many features to make your addon list easy to manage, help you with missing libraries, and provide you with detailed information about each addon.
ElvUI
ElvUI is a massive modification that changes the standard Blizzard interface in a significant way. If you are tired of your action bars and want to go for something more exotic or informative, this addon allows you to do just that.
