Guild Wars 2 is getting a whole raft of game spanning changes to accompany Through the Veil
Players picking up Secrets of the Obscure can expect a whole new update to Guild Wars 2’s latest magical escapade on 7 November. The continuing story of reality hopping wizards and demonic Kryptis is set to continue with a leap into a new reality of sorts. Developer ArenaNet announced the update in a new blog post, giving players a look at what’s coming, and expanding beyond the corridors of the Wizard’s Tower and into the wider game itself.
Expansion Content
Dropping in as an absolutely free update, for anybody who has bought the latest expansion, Through the Veil will take the battle against Tyria’s latest foe right into the realm of Nayos. You can catch up on that above. This means a brand new location, and a map that delves into the home of the Kryptis threat. This new location bundles in plenty of extra challenges, rewards, and a progression of the Rift Hunting system. Convergences will synergize with an additional Nayos Mastery Track and lead to even bigger large scale rift events that offer 50 player encounters with the most fearsome Kryptis on the hook.
More Than Just A Map
A blog post over on the Guild Wars 2 website confirms that we’re going to get more than a Living World update for your money. The Fall 2024 updates also include A refresh of the Wizard’s Vault. The new way to grab rewards in Guild Wars 2, which we described as akin to a free Battle Pass with more choice, I might have been a bit controversial, but it is bedding in with the player base. ArenaNet confirmed that it would add six additional expansion relics at the same time as this big story update hits.
Later in November, players can expect a skill and balance pass that will add new weapon choices to each profession, although we still expect you’ll need the latest expansion for this. You’ll find out for sure over on the Guild Wars 2 Twitch Channel this Friday.
WvW and Everything Else
Finally, WvW is getting some love. A follow up beta test of the WvW Restructuring systems is going o drop in early 2024. This doesn’t really count as Fall 2023, but ArenaNet detailed the news so we’re sharpening our blades.
