If you’re looking for gravity-defying retro action, look no further than VVVVVV. The indie sensation is ready to launch on Nintendo Switch on November 17th.
VVVVVV & gravity defying fun
VVVVVV is a game that will teleport you back in time. It has been created “as an homage to the 8-bit Commodore 64 games” that lead developer Terry Cavanagh played as a kid.
You’ll play as Captain Viridian and will find yourself teleported into random locations. You’ll wield the ability to change “the polarity of gravity” at any time. And it’s a good thing too since you’ll need to get yourself out of all sorts of situations including pits, trapped flooring and more. Your goal, in addition to defying gravity, is to find teleporters and collect shiny trinkets as well as your crew members.
The Switch version will let you play at 60 FPS as well as provide a chance to use a number of filters. These will allow you to change the visual aesthetic to better enjoy the “throwback graphics”.
You’ll be able to get hold of the Switch version of VVVVVV on November 17th for $10. You can also play it on PC, Android or iOS devices as well as via browser and on PlayStation 4.
