Frostpunk got a brand new developer update recently, and it looks like it’s not all sunshine and roses for gamers. The latest post on Frostpunk’s Steam page delivers a ton of new detail about the game’s endgame, irreversible choices, a developer video, and the launch price of this survival simulator.
Unlike other survival simulator’s, 11-bit studios don’t see survival as a one-man band. You might not starve if you chop some wood but there is a whole other world out there. Instead, 11 bit put players in charge of a society, managing resources, population, and politics. New endgame information raises some stark questions about ruling over a small cluster of humanity, asking players to choose particular paths. Each of these choices unlocks different laws and new outcomes. Benevolence could lead to chaos, while order could bring about compliance. Alternatively, you could just send in the guards and beat everybody over the head.
As I sit here watching the beast from the east sweep through Britain, I can’t help but wonder if we will soon start erecting watchtowers and making crazy laws around soup. If we do survive unscathed, you can find Frostpunk on Steam, GOG, and Humble for $29.99/€29.99
