Moonlighter Devs Deal Out Cataclismo in July 2024

The newest game form Digital Sun will bring tower defense title Cataclismo to screens on 16 July 2024.

In a massive change of direction for the studio behind the likes of Moonlighter and Mageseeker, Digital Sun Games has announced that we will prepare to defend humanity brick by brick on 16 July 2024. Featuring an ambitious brick-by-brick LEGO inspired building system, Cataclismo challenges players with defending the last bastion of humanity, with a few interesting tweaks.

As monsters flood onto the screen, the ramparts of a medieval fortress are overwhelmed by the gnaw of an overwhelming wave of destruction. Only you can build through this battle. Using your own inspiration and a range of options, you’ll design and build your own fortresses, train and deploy a wide range of troops, optimize production in the citadel, and make impactful decisions. A core of colorful troops fill the ramparts with a range of tactical specialties to take down night terrors, but it’s the build that make it interesting. Over 100 pieces slot into place. Mix and match each selection to craft a physics-based stronghold that allows you to play your own way. Just, survive the night.

A 20-hour base campaign comes bundled with a range of other ways to experience this world. Beyond the cutscenes and VA, of the core story players will be able to go freeform in a creative mode, face endless hordes in survival, and have a bit of a one-off skirmish too. We’ve learned never to let our expectations get in the way when it comes to this studio. Cataclismo is not the average tower defence, and it definitely doesn’t feel like Brick Tales, so head over to the official Steam Store page now to find out more about the long night ahead.
