Over 100,000 Players Slayed Their Way Through The Warhaven Demo

Warhaven Demo - two armored players glide into combat on gliders

Steam Next Fest might have wrapped up, but Nexon has just finished mopping up the remains of over 100,000 active players that sampled the Warhaven demo.

Just like Wayfinder, Warhaven recently closed out a recent public outing that gave a ton of players the opportunity to hack and slash their way through a slice of this upcoming adventure. Opened up as part of the tri annual Stea Next Fest event, the latest Warhaven demo seems to have done some serious numbers, clocking up over 100,000active players. That means we can reasonably expect short queues when this 16 vs. 16 medieval fantasy brawlers finally goes live, in Fall 2023.

That’s not the only surprising feedback either, the publisher behind MapleStory and Dungeon&Fighter didn’t just have the most daily active demo players during Next Fest, but also captured #2 for Highest Concurrent Users, and #3 for Top Demos by Unique Players. This is likely due to more than the title’s impressive graphics. Warhaven might sound a lot like the forlorn For Honor, but it seems t do a lot right. While they both come crashing into an arena format with polished armor and intimidating weaponry, this combat sim starts as a free-to-play model, it mixes up dynamic melee combat controls with an intricate tactical situation. Huge maps with a variety of combat scenarios seem to be balanced to give the right mix of thoughtful play and utter chaos.
The result is that during next Fest, Warhaven was the 7th Most Wishlisted Upcoming Game. Again, this ensures we should see plenty of targets when this medieval melee action kicks off. The Steam Next Fest demo introduced updated mechanics, new maps and game modes, including a tutorial mode, practice battlefield, and the new Skirmish map, ‘Sihan’, in-game events, and the chance to play Warhaven’s latest addition to the Warhaven soldier roster, Hush, the swift and silent assassin.

We can expect even more than the sampling provided by the Warhaven demo, when Nexon unsheathe things for real. Head over to the official Steam Store page before the Fall to check out more on this shiny new brawler.
