As the year comes to a close, the Fallout 76 team has taken to the Bethesda site with a new post detailing the year that was and what is to come in 2024. To start things off, the team announced that over 17 million players have entered and survived the Wasteland since the game launched in 2018. They have traveled through Appalachia, made choices that affected the area’s outcome in both Steel Reign and Steel Dawn. They’ve traveled to The Pitt and Atlantic City. Along the way, they’ve seen traveling carnivals, unlocked seasonal content, fought the Scorched, and gambled on Atlantic City’s famous boardwalk.
But that’s just the beginning. The team has big plans for 2024.
Fallout 76 in 2024
- The second half of the Atlantic City content expansion will arrive in the spring of 2024. It brings with it an additional mission series where players confront the legendary Jersey Devil. There will be new story-driven quests, more areas to explore, and more rewards (of course!).
- “Later” in 2024, the game’s southern reaches will open up in the heartland of Shenandoah. This Virginia location will offer up a new questline, factions, and rewards.
- Seasonal events will continue to be part of the game. According to the blog post, they’ll happen more frequently and offer a host of new rewards with each Event.
- New Seasonal Events will round out the roster, though what those will be remains a mystery at this point.
- There are plans to release several additional features and improvements that will benefit both builders and adventurers.
- The Fallout TV series will debut on Amazon Prime in the spring. “This episodic series represents a collaboration between the creative minds at Bethesda Games Studios and Kilter Films – showing an expanded look at the Fallout universe like never before, breathing the world to life with new stories, characters, and moments for both fans and newcomers.”
