But what if you have already tried all of the games on the list? After all, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and The Witcher have been out for a long time. Presenting PC Games With Romances Part 2, this time focused on the few PC titles that have managed to slip the net and the handful that are still in the oven.
Note: this piece is focused on RPGs or games with RPG elements so you won’t find visual novels in this list. However, if you prefer simulators, we have a separate list prepared just for you! If you have any additions, let us know in the comments below.

Starfield
Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.
Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard participated in a podcast during which he confirmed that the game will feature complex relationships between characters, including romances. Jump at 52:00 in the podcast to the section titled “Super-intelligent NPCs” to hear his opinion for yourself!
“We have a number of companions but for them, we go… I won’t say super-complex romantic, but – more complex relationships than we’ve had in terms of just having a state – they like you or they don’t like you. They can be in love with you, and dislike something you did, and be pissed at you temporarily, and then come back to loving you.”
Upcoming Games That Will Have Romance Options
GreedFall 2: The Dying World
The events of GreedFall 2: The Dying World take place three years before the story of Constantin and De Sardet unfolds. This time you play as a native of Teer Fradee, uprooted from your home and taken to the continent of Gacane. As the world is ravaged by war and scarred by the Malichor, you must use diplomacy, cunning and combat as well as a help of new allies to regain your freedom and put an end to one man’s ambitions of conquest.
Create your own character and find allies to join your team. Help them with their quests, uncover their secrets and make them your friends, rivals or even lovers.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
Originally presented during The Game Awards 2018, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is currently in the works at BioWare. There are currently next to no details or even an estimated release date for the title, but considering Bioware’s list of titles, the romances are more than likely.
As comes from the name, the events of the game will follow those of Dragon Age: Inquisition and will feature Solas, one of Inquisition’s companions. According to Kotaku, one of the early prototypes of the game had players assume the role of an agent in Tevinter Imperium. It is unknown if it stays true for the reboot.
As of late October 2022, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf reached the Alpha stage milestone, so stay tuned for new info!
The Next Mass Effect
During The Game Awards 2020, the developers from Bioware have pulled a sneaky one and announced the next installment into the Mass Effect universe. The team has also posted a blog post on the official site, promising a lot more in store for the Mass Effect universe.
When’s the game coming? We don’t know. What’s it going to be about? We don’t know. What galaxy is it even going to be in?! Well, we don’t really know – the trailer hints at the Milky Way, but the developers also tease Andromeda.
But we do know Bioware, and because of that, we are sure that whenever and wherever the events of the game will be taking place, there will be an opportunity for romance.
Maybe, Maybe Not
I am not going to lie to you: we don’t know if there are going to be romances in the few following games, although my romance radar is tingling. So don’t take my word for granted and see for yourself once there are more details!
The Elder Scrolls VI (possibly)
Officially announced during E3 2018, The Elder Scrolls VI is still a long way away, releasing at the very least well after Starfield. However, knowing that it is actually coming at some point is got to be worth something, right?
We don’t actually know of TESVI will feature romances, but taking a look back at TESV and Fallout 4? It is quite likely. Get your amulets of Mara prepared and ready!
Dragon’s Dogma 2 (Unknown)
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG that challenges the players to choose their own experience – from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more – in a truly immersive fantasy world.
On your journey, you’ll be joined by Pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure. Can you also embark on a romantic adventure like in the prequel? We don’t know for sure just yet, but we’re looking forward to finding out!
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be arriving on March 22, 2024, so mark your calendars! The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
