EA has announced that from now through Monday, October 16th, gamers can play Battlefield 2042 for free. Throughout the free play weekend, players will gain access to over 15 maps, 100 weapons and gadgets, and over 50 vehicles. The event is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Those purchasing a copy of the game during the event will find that all their weekend progress will be retained, including cosmetics and character progression.
Developers are enticing current and future players with Season 6: Dark Creations, the next event coming to the game soon. A brand new trailer has been released to showcase the content in Dark Creations as well as to offer a peek inside the action.
During Season 6, players will have 100 tiers to unlock in the Free Battle Pass, including new weapons, gadgets, and XP boosters. Interested fans can also purchase the Premium Battle Pass, unlocking even more awesome in-game items.
Season 6 also offers players a new map called Redacted. “Discover a secret underground Scottish facility, dripping with tension and close quarters mayhem. The tight, contained corridors make for claustrophobic, infantry-only firefights. Fans of Battlefield classics like Operation Locker and Operation Metro will feel right at home as they overcome their fears within the biodomes and laboratories.”
