Resonance of Fate Gets Remastered in October

Sega has just announced that it is bringing its unique cult classic JRPG, Resonance of Fate, to PlayStation 4 and PC. Hardened veterans of the JRPG genre and brand new players won’t have long to wait on this unique adventure, however. Resonance of Fate hits electronic storefronts on 18 October.

Originally released in 2010, and developed by Tri-Ace, Resonance of Fate takes place in a far-off future city and the last bastion of humanity. Protected by a mechanical entity, called the Zenith, the city stands as the only light in a dying world. Three protagonists uncover a plot to undermine the Zenith and a desperate fight to defy fate ensues.

While this particular title might not have hit the commercial heights of every other Final Fantasy, its appearance on PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 created a cult hit. With some very left-field ideas about storytelling and a genuinely inventive combat system, Resonance of FFaitait pushed new ground with its tri-Attack Battle system, which mixed turn-based combat with real-time controls.

Now, that tale is coming back with a high res remaster. Resonance of Fate 4K/HD Edition will retail at $35/€35 for those who have yet to meet Zephyr, Leanne, or Vashyron. If you’ve never heard of those protagonists before then you can check out more in the trailer below, or by visiting the official website.
