It looks like Freejam Games just dropped official confirmation that the UK Studio is working on Robocraft 2.

Robocraft 2, the obviously named sequel to the mechanical adventure Robocraft, is officially coming. In a set of social media posts, just last night and then just hours ago, Freejam Studio’s Co-founder and then the official Robocraft Social feed both dropped the logo for this new project.

The newly initialized endeavour now has it sown social accounts, which describe the upcoming game as follows:

The sequel to @Robocraftgame. A new physics-based combat-focused multiplayer game set within the Robocraft universe. Developed by @Freejamgames

The news seems to be getting a favourable reception from fans of the original thus far. After launching into Alpha as far back as 2013, the first Robocraft gave players the opportunity to design and build ridiculous robot battle vehicles, then take them into battle. After a time riding high, tweaks and gameplay changes have seen the original’s favor falter, and the team behind it move to focus on other projects. The news that players will once again be able to make mechanical robot sharks with laser eyes is giving us plenty to look forward to. While we don’t have any details on format, pricing, or development yet, we will let you know as soon as we have more details.
