Shadows Over Loathing, the follow up to stick figure RPG West of loathing, just made a surprise appearance on Steam and is out now.
Without much fanfare and little warning, it seems that a new adventure is upon us. The follow up to 2017’s unexpect4ed adventure West of loathing and the even more of the wall MMO, The Kingdom of Loathing, is now available on Steam. Dropped into the storefront over the weekend and open for eager stick figures, this brand new horror-tinged comedy adventure/RPG is ready to transport p[layers to the shadier areas of a world where shades of grey don’t really exist.
If you’ve seen the trailer for this od open world quest, then you’ll know what I mean. Shadows Over Loathing has a very distinct aesthetic and comes as close to a stick figure series as I can imagine. Behind the simplified comic strip art is a tale of monsters, mobsters, and mystery. Set in the established loathing universe, players picking up this sequel will aid Uncle Murray at his antique shop in Ocean City. However, the old geezer is missing. Investigating this unfortunate absence means taking on some shadowy plots (and a bunch of squirming eldritch tentacles) that threaten to swallow the world whole. With odd slang, fishing, turn based combat, and more eccentric ideas, this is probably one for fans of adventures like Sam & Max and even Last Hero of Nostalgaia.
