Star Wars x Rocket League Adds Brings Droids to the Arena

4 may will bring a famous band of mechanical sidekicks to the arena with Star Wars x Rocket League.

Forget Tesla’s self-driving shenanigans. BB-8, R2D2, and other chrome cased compatriots will get behind the wheel when 4 May arrives in Rocket League. Psyonix’s motorized e-sport will celebrate the latest round of space fantasy celebrations with a range of iconic droid themed additions, and we’re 100% here for it. Players dropping out of hyperspace, or maybe just taking a break from the more problematic performance of EA’s latest Jedi Survivor on PC, can grab designs and cosmetics based on May 4th for the first time! Content themed after iconic droids BB-8, C-3PO, K-2SO, and R2-D2.

These new added extras will come in a number of different forms, both paid and free. For the person who wants everything, go hunting for the STAR WARS Droid Bundle. This includes a Decal for the Fennec (C-3PO), Octane (R2-D2), Dominus (K-2SO), and Takumi (BB-8) cars, four Wheels (C-3PO, R2-D2, K-2SO, and BB-8), two Toppers (R2-D2 and BB-8), the R2-D2 Player Anthem (also available separately), and the “Droid” Player Title. It will set you back a cool 2200 credits, but at least the Hutt’s aren’t going to come looking for payment either. For anybody that doesn’t own the required cars, another bundle which includes the droid content and painted versions of those cars will be available too.

If that’s a bit much and you don’t have the charm of an intergalactic smuggler to lean on, then The BB-8 Pack (Decal, Wheels, and Topper), C-3PO Pack (Decal and Wheels), K-2SO Pack (Decal and Wheels), and R2-D2 Pack (Decal, Wheels, and Topper) will all be available separately. These come in at 500 to 800 Credits each.

If you’ve already spent all your ash on the latest Lego Death Star then, the Star Wars x Rocket League event will add the “Rust Bucket” Player Title and STAR WARS R2-D2 (Twin Suns) Player Banner for free in the Item Shop. All of these will arrive on 4 may and be available until 16 May. Check out more on the official Rocket League website now.
