Step Into The Ring and Pick Up World Championship Boxing Manager 2

World Championship Boxing Manager 2 launches tomorrow, inviting sporting fans to put em up and steer a course to glory on PC today.

Following on from the 1991 classic, World Championship Boxing Manager 2 is more than just a sporting sequel. When it launches tomorrow, the sporting management sim will usher in a new wave of retro nostalgia that doesn’t involve scrolling shoot ’em ups or platforming. Instead, this campaign puts players in the shoes of a boxing manager as you seek out the best talent, trainers, and coaches, to win the world crown.

Leaning heavily on 32 visuals that are inspired by the 90’s original, this new regime includes tons of training before simply jumping in and button-bashing. Trainers and coaches will need to source and scout talent, create a fitness regime, balance training, hire the best and brightest gym staff, book events, promote fights, and more. An extensive skill system means that sports stars are more than just a set of stats pulled from a FIFA loot chest. You’ll be able to build a hard-hitting ring king, a one-punch wonder, or a super stamina warrior to take on the world’s best.

While World Championship Boxing Manager 2 looks old school, there are plenty of modern mechanics under the hood. Aside from the extensive management systems, dynamic lighting and a fight cam to watch your fighter duke it out in real-time are included. Twitch integration also allows streamers and their viewers to take part in the boxing experience together with viewer-triggered random in-game events that can help or hinder a campaign.

If you are ready to do battle but maybe don’t want to bash heads in Pokemon, this retro return is out tomorrow. You can check out the trailer above and head over to the Steam Store to ring the bell. Console pugilists can expect it to pull on the gloves at a later date.
