System Shock Console Edition Will Execute On 21 May 2024

System Shock Console Edition will add AI enhancements to PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox One and Series X|S in May.

Nightdive Studios is about to upgrade your current generation console, but this AI probably shouldn’t be trusted. The inspiration behind the likes of Dead Space and other sci-fi catastrophes is about to unleash a rogue AI across consoles. Following on from the 2023 remake of System Shock on PC, the console release of this classic will plunge players into the Citadel and put them toe-to-toe with SHODAN.

The newest version of this classic remake bundles in the modern day enhancements of the 2023 version, and brings them to the front room. This includes, 4K 60FPS visuals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, new platform specific gamepad support, and all the upgraded ace traps, puzzles, and hostile mutated creatures that SHODAN controls.
As you might expect, updated HD visuals, audio, and HUD are at the core of this upgraded experience, which you can sample in the latest trailer. Developed by Nightdive Studios, the same team behind the update of Turok, Dark Forces and more, this adventure is a fully fledged remake of the ground breaking original from 1994. Facing a psychotic AI that has taken control of Citadel Station, players will face a deep dark space station filled with cyborgs and deadly traps. The goal of this iconic FPS is to shut down the all-seeing SHODAN. If you’ve ever wanted to go retro without the old school limitations check out more about System Shock on the official website now.
