Wanted: Dead Brings Out The Big Guns For A How To Play Trailer

Wanted: Dead publishers 110 Industries just unsheathed an explosive new trailer that illustrates just how this new adventure mixes hack-and-slash gunplay.

On the streets of a neo future Hong Kong, the police need every weapon they can get to push back the combined forces of hardened crooks and corrupt corporations. Thankfully Wanted: Dead doesn’t just rely on standard issue firearms and some pepper spray. Instead, this flashy title packs in some explosive FPS gameplay while wielding a skillful hack-and-slash style of combat. With such an unusual mix of genres bolted onto each other, developers Soleil has spliced together a how-to-play trailer.

Taking a much closer look at the firearms involved in this experience, the new trailer shows off some nail-bitingly close encounters. Players get to see a standard ranged sidearm. However, solely relying on our protagonist’s rifle won’t get you very far. You’ll need to rely on ammo and secondary weapons dropped by enemies like assault rifles, submachine guns, and even grenade launchers.

Of course, the team behind Ninja Gaiden isn’t widely known for a simple shoot and loot scenario. This hardcore hit and run allows players to keep moving, gliding from cover to close quickly and eviscerate opponents using the pointy end of a sharp thing. Switching from guns to swords unlocks a range of melee combos, counters, and some sick finishing moves too.

All of the above provides plenty of ways to play, as off-the-books police team Ghost Unit blows through the problems that the standard bobby on the beat can’t. Don’t worry about deciding on a build or team composition quite yet, however. Wanted: Dead isn’t out until 14 February on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S & PC. It’s up to you how you paint the town red this Valentine’s day. Check out our Gamescom hands-on, check out the system requirements, or head to the official website for more.
