Chucklefish has announced that a Wildfrost mobile version will begin deckbuilding across iOS and Android on 11 April 2024.
The coolest deckbuilder I played last year is getting a mobile release. The studio behind the likes of Wargroove and Eastward has announced that Wildfrost will hit iOS and Android storefronts next month.
Anybody picking up the mix of roguelike mechanics and charming penguins will find a world overtaken by the Wildfrost. Permanent winter isn’t much fun for anybody, and it’s up to you to traverse the tundra and beast back a range of fearsome challenges. Snow Gobblers, Ooba Bears, Wombats, and more all block your path to bring back the sun.
Thankfully, these card wielding problems should be no match for a range of unique leaders, tons of card combinations, and cute companions. During each run, players will be able to recruit cute, but brutal card companions, bestowing them with enchanting wobbly charms to bolster their abilities. During combat, a dynamic counter system unlocks the opportunity to try out even more playstyles. If that’s not enough then there’s even a couple of jangly charm cameos from the chaotic ‘Cult of the Lamb’ and gorgeous platformer ‘Celeste’.
When we tried out Wildfrost on PC, it turned a simple idea into an endlessly repayable snow day. The Wildfrost mobile version will be available in all its glacial glory April 11th, for £6.99, $6.99, €6.99. Playable in English, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Japanese, and Korean.
