Worship The Old Gods and Chase Chickens in Horror Tinged Farm Sim Harvest Island

Solo developer Yobob Games has launched a new spooky slice of life farming sim called Harvest Island

Sacrifice Disney Dreamlight over a ritual altar and you’re likely to get something sort of twisted elder gaming god, or Harvest Island. Rather than lead one of the world’s most popular cozy games to its end, you can pick up Harvest Island now across PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and itch.io. This new indie island getaway is a single-player horror farming simulator that focuses on rich storytelling with unique and immersive horror-farming themed gameplay. What appears as a simple farming sim seems to reveal a much darker secret as you get to know the gods that watch over this island.

Unlike Mythwrecked, the deities on this like hunk of land are less into hanging out and more into transactional gifts. As you tend to an ever-growing homestead, you’ll need to win the favour of these powerful entities. Blessings only come if you can collect required items, meaning you might need to go out and explore. A story mode spirals out into dark caverns, spooky woods, and all the secrets that await. Along the way you’ll be able to collect 180 items across the island, from seashells, sharks, coconuts, and low tide critters. Use those items and craft tools to ensure you have plenty of Bless to expand your farm and don’t irritate the gods.

With a cute retro aesthetic and a spooky twist on this genre, Harvest Island is a lovely looking getaway, available for $24.99 USD or local equivalent. Check out more on the Steam Store now.
