CD-ROMs allowed for larger games, unlike anything anyone had seen before. But the best part was that with this, video game lovers could switch to 3D gaming, which wasn’t possible on the 16-bit systems.

The Start of PC Gaming (1990s-2000s)

While the console wars waged on, PC gaming also started to take shape within the industry. The developments in processors and graphics cards allowed the creation of even more visually stunning games.
