Following the showcase at ChinaJoy 2020 that revealed a new gameplay video, the developers from Blizzard have taken to the official forums to share mid-year update for the upcoming mobile title Diablo Immortal.
The team has transitioned to working from home and is making good progress. The game is preparing for the internal company playtest which will provide the team with the feedback necessary to guide their decisions and iterations on the game before it leaves Blizzard’s walls.
This milestone is crucial to our team because we want to ensure that Diablo Immortal is the best experience for our players when we’re ready to share it with the world. Getting the game into the hands of more of us at Blizzard is a major step toward getting it into yours.
ABOUT DIABLO IMMORTAL:
Initially unveiled at BlizzCon 2018, Diablo Immortal takes place between Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III, timeline-wise. Players can choose between 6 familiar classes such as Barbarian, Wizard, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Necromancer and Monk (no Witch Doctor, though).
The Worldstone lies shattered, yet great power remains within its corrupted fragments. Power that Diablo’s minions hope to harness to bring about the return of the Lord of Terror. The Archangel Tyrael is presumed dead, and mankind is left to deal with the aftermath of his actions. Fragments of the corrupted Worldstone taint the land, bringing forth ancient evils who are looking to harvest the stone’s power and use it to control humanity.
Some of the game’s features:
- Unique Zones & Dungeons: from the peaceful town of Wortham, to the jungle island of Bilefen and the ancient Library of Zoltun Kulle, each zone in Diablo Immortal has new challenges to master and familiar faces to see
- MMO in Your Pocket: drop in or out of groups easily and engage in dynamic events all over the world, teaming up with other heroes as you take down Skarn’s minions—and reap powerful rewards.
- Designed for Mobile: Diablo Immortal is being designed from the ground-up to give you an authentic Diablo experience on touch-screen devices.
