Dambuster Studios and Deep Silver have announced that Dead Island 2 is now gold and that the game will arrive earlier than expected. The team is “absolutely thrilled and totally relieved” to reveal to eager fans that DI2 will be released on April 21, 2023. They even pinky-swore so we’ll take them at their word. The irony is, of course, that the game was originally planned for a — wait for it — 2015 release. After a number of delays, staff changes, and other development snafus, it’s something of a wonder the game is coming out at all. So now we fast forward nearly eight years and fans will finally be able to play the game.
DI2 will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC when it ultimately launches via Epic Games Store. PC players interested in pre-ordering the game can do so at EGS.
