Dune: Spice Wars Adds Line in the Sand Update Today

Dune: Spice Wars a Line in the Sand announcement

Dune: Spice Wars invites fans of 4X real-time strategy titles to draw a Line in the Sand with a new update.

Available today and expanding an already iconic battleground, the latest update to Dune: Spice Wars looks likely to please the community. Kicking off a confrontation now means improved map generation and fairer starting spawns to better balance the beginning of each encounter. A Landsraad bar has also been added to better show off the different phases of the intricate system. More than this, the latest large add-on injects new regions, military gear, village traits, spying operations, and councilor reworks, just to name a few.

While developer Shiro Games and co-publisher Funcom have already bolted on the Emperor’s own House Corrino, multiplayer modes, new units, and more this time Spice Barons can expect even more. Line in the Sand is the first major update since November 2022, when the Spacing Guild brought a swathe of new flying units to the war for Spice. We’re yet to find out how the latest quality of life improvements and balancing will impact those attack fighters, but it won’t take much money down to find out.

Dune: Spice Wars is available via Steam Early Access for PC and places players on the desert moon or Arrakis. Controlling one of the great houses or independent factions of the iconic Dune stories, players can expect plenty of intrigue, negotiation, plotting, trade, and battle to take down Arakis and then the galaxy.
