Headbangers Rhythm Royale Pigeon vs Pigeon Action Launches on Halloween

Headbangers Rhythm Royale, as absolutely maddening mix of ideas will arrive on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows Store on 31 October.

Flapping through yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, the latest title from Worms creator Team17 and Glee-Cheese, dropped a release date. Players looking to try out a maddening mix of competitive party play all fuelled by pigeon power, can pick up Headbangers Rhythm Royale on Halloween. However, we don’t know exactly how much the experience will cost you.

For those that are a little bemused by the idea of a multiplayer party battle royale rhythm gameshow populated by anthropomorphic pigeons, the recent Nintendo Direct presentation did give us a little more than a confusion crash of feathers. A new teaser revealed a first look at the gameplay that’s due to land. This includes a look at the mini games these flying musicians can take part in. Cross platform support will mean just about anybody who can get online can test their memory, rhythm, reflexes, reaction time by copying the commanders’ instructions in Yes Commander; play the piano with a slingshot (yes really) in First Piano Shooter; be the first off the mark and into the solar system in To The Sky; and much, much more.

Aside from being the best of the best, competitors will be rewarded with digital only breadcrumbs. These can be converted into a wealth of equally inedible customizations and outfits to make you stand out from the flock. With 23 challenges on launch, 29 other pigeons per game to best, and tons of silly scores to play along to, this certainly looks like a very different theme for Halloween. Sure, it might not be as explosive as Pigeon Simulator, but it’s probably more fun. Check out more on Headbangers Rhythm Royale on the official website and socials.

Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
