It’s Shark Week & Maneater devs have a lot to say

Maneater

It’s always a big deal when Discovery’s Shark Week rolls around. Everyone and their brother finds a way to tie the scary denizens of the deep into whatever they’re trying to sell or promote. However, some have it “in the bag” like Maneater, the upcoming single-player ARPG from Tripwire Interactive.  Players take on the role of, you guessed it: A shark roaming the Gulf Coast’s warm, yet unforgiving waters. The challenge is to survive, grow and become an awesome predator.

To celebrate Shark Week, devs have taken to the airwaves in a brand new video developer diary. The biggest announcement is that the game is now available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store. Those who order before August 5th can score Maneater for $34.99. After that date, the price goes up to $35.99.

Developers talk about their love of sharks and why they believe people are fascinated by them. They tie it into the “shaRkPG” and how the gameplay works. “It’s fun to play something in real life that you’re scared of,” says one of the developers. It’s a fascinating peek into both game development and how Tripwire’s game will play.

Tripwire has plans to bring out several more developer diaries in the months to come.
