Marauders Will Get A PC Closed Beta In July

Prepare to shoot off into space, with filthy dieselpunk shooter Marauders. Team17 just announced a new closed bet testing phase for this dieselpunk survival shooter and access is all down to whether you can pay your way. After a successful alpha test, the developers behind this twisted industrial hellscape scattered on the edge of our solar system are ready to let players loose in game once again. The new PC closed beta will kick off on 20 – 25 July 2022 and will run on Steam. To guarantee a place in this alternative future hands on, players will need to pre-order the game now to receive 10% off their purchase and immediate access when it launches next week. All pre-order purchases will also automatically receive the Space Pirate cosmetic pack, which will be available when Marauders launches into Steam Early Access and Preview via PC Game Pass later this year.

Anybody picking up the title will be getting a looter shooter that is definately not anything like Sega’s upcoming Hyenas, and draws obvious parallels to smash hit Tarkov, but with a very different twist. Set in an alternate reality where the space race went industrial back in the 1980s, near Earth objects are swarming with big noisy mechanical contraptions and sparse little resources. Players will need to navigate perilous space battles, dock under fire, raid space stations, and even perform boarding actions on other ships. The rest is very loot and shot.

Since our positive first impressions at WASD and the closed alpha, Marauders now has two new raid locations: the ‘Terraformer’ – a newly abandoned agricultural hub built on top of an asteroid shard, and the ‘Merchant Ship’ – an expansive, breach-able frigate perfect for intimate and long-range firefights. The July test will also add firearms: the Heavy Thompson and the Klobb Machine Pistol; alongside the ‘Scrap Bomb’ – a hand-held heavy explosive device, as well as a ton of other improvements.
