Try to hold onto your memories of the before time. Publisher NIS has just announced the Caligula effect 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this Fall.

NIS has just confirmed that it is brining back The Caligula Effect for a second round of high school hi jinks in the Caligula Effect 2. The appropriately named follow up to 2017’s RPG is set to arrive son western shores sometime in Fall; 2021 with more action and escapism in the virtual world of Redo. Coming form the minds of scenario writer Tadashi Satomi and director Takuya Yamanaka is due to arrive via digital store fronts, and already has a collector’s edition available.

If you remember as far back as 2017, you might have distant memories of our PSVita review of The original Caligula Effect. This new quest finds another group of high schoolers mind wiped and whittling away their lives in the virtual environment of Redo, only to have the work of a virtual doll Regret torn down and the truth revealed to them. For here on in you’ll take an unlikely band of heroes re-establish the Go-Home Club, a resistance group that seeks to fight against Regret and her enforcers, the Obbligato Musicians. You can expect more of the same high school heroes, JRPG combat, but with vastly improved graphics on the Switch and PlayStation 4 consoles.
