Cornfox and Brothers have announced that the open-world hack’n’slash RPG Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm will be making its debut on Nintendo Switch in Fall 2020. The game is currently available in the Apple Arcade where it has received critical notice. “It is a beautiful 3D open-world reimagining of its fantasy landscape, encouraging endless exploration, and nostalgic immersion for budding adventurers,” according to the development team.
The second game in the series is building on the success of the first title, Oceanhorn: Monsters of Uncharted Seas, though oddly, Knights of the Lost Realm is the prequel to the first game. It follows a young Knight sent out to explore Gaia and defend its people from the Dark Army of Warlock Mesmeroth. Players will control a party including several characters each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. Players will work to solve puzzles, fight tactical battles, and take down enemies as they wander through the landscape during the 20-hour “Zelda-like” adventure.
