Developer Rocket Flair Studios and publisher Paradox Arc have released hardcore survival colony builder Surviving the Abyss in Steam Early Access. The game is currently available with a 10% discount.
According to the team’s message, the current plan is to keep Surviving the Abyss in EA for 6 to 12 months, depending on how quickly the developers will be able to reach certain milestones. The Early Access phase will allow Rocket Flair Studios to collect invaluable player feedback to refine the game into its best possible version. Throughout EA, the team will be releasing a number of updates that will add new content and features as well as revamp balance.
The current version of the game contains the stable and fully playable core experience but certain content and external features are missing.
“Earth, 1976. The cold war is in full swing and you have been tasked to construct and direct a deep sea research facility working to perfect human cloning. Survive against the odds in the extremely unforgiving abyss maintaining oxygen, power, food, and much more to keep your crew alive. Discover and mine resources for construction, light your way in the dark, and expand into your surroundings to advance your research. Capture the diverse, highly-adapted flora and fauna of the deep, but beware: the darkness hides unexpected horrors, with only the light keeping them at bay.”
