Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
- Genre: Action, Adventure, Co-op
- Release Date: February 2
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Despite all the warnings about the potential low quality of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, we want to believe in a miracle and hope that the authors of the Batman: Arkham series will release a good game. In Suicide Squad, the heroes are influenced by the alien invader Brainiac and have turned to evil. A squad of antiheroes, including Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, are set to confront the former superheroes.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Genre: RPG
- Release Date: February 5
- Platform: PS5
The second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy picks up right after the end of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The main characters leave Midgar and continue to pursue Sephiroth. The game will initially be released exclusively for PS5, followed by a PC release later in the year.
Alone in the Dark
- Genre: Survival Horror
- Release Date: March 20
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Alone in the Dark, once practically the father of the Survival Horror genre, has over the years turned into a parody of itself and something unpleasant to remember. It’s unlikely the 2024 game will return the series to its former glory, but it has every chance to become a decent detective game, similar to Frogwares’ Sherlock Holmes games. This time, players will control two protagonists voiced by Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) and David Harbour (Stranger Things), who arrive at the Derceto mansion to investigate the disappearance of its owner.
Rise of the Ronin
- Genre: Action, RPG
- Release Date: March 22
- Platform: PS5
Developers from Team NINJA continue to emulate their colleagues from FromSoftware. The studio’s previous games, the Nioh duology and last year’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, borrowed much from Souls-like games but were distinctive enough to stand out among other clones of Dark Souls or Bloodborne. Rise of the Ronin, with some gameplay elements similar to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is set at the end of the Edo period when Western civilization began to encroach on Japan.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Genre: Action, Adventure, RPG
- Release Date: March 22
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
The much-anticipated sequel to the fantasy RPG, which became cult not least because of battles with large and very large monsters. The sequel will add giant monsters to the roster.
South Park: Snow Day!
- Genre: Action, Adventure, Co-op
- Release Date: March 26
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch
The new game, set in the well-known town, has moved to full 3D and focuses on cooperative gameplay for four players. The town is buried in a snowstorm, classes are canceled, so the kids have set up another game with team confrontations.
Black Myth: WuKong
- Genre: Action, Adventure
- Release Date: August 20
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
The intriguing Black Myth: WuKong finally receives a final (?) release date. You can embody the Monkey King and dive into Chinese mythology by the end of summer. The hero’s ability to take on the form of various animals should help in solving puzzles or avoiding traps.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
- Genre: FPS, RPG
- Release Date: September 5
- Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S
The most anticipated release of the year from Ukrainian developers. The latest trailers promise not only beautiful landscapes of the Zone but also an interesting plot and characters, and several leaks have practically announced the return of several old acquaintances. Just yesterday, GSC Game World announced that the game is postponed again and will now definitely be released on September 5th this year.
Hades 2
- Genre: ActionAdventure
- Release Date: Q2
- Platform: PC
The sequel to one of the best games of 2020 is to be released only in early access this year, but even this is enough to earn the status of the most anticipated game. In the sequel, we will take control of Melinoë, Zagreus’s sister, to save their father from the patron of time — Cronos.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
- Genre: RPG
- Release Date: 2024
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
After the releases of controversial Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, BioWare developers are only giving out information about their future releases in dribs and drabs. The new part of the epic fantasy RPG Dragon Age has been in development since 2015, and all we know is that the game will be a direct continuation of Dragon Age: Inquisition and will be directly related to Solas. A full announcement is promised for the summer, with a possible release at the end of the year.
Star Wars Outlaws
- Genre: Action, RPG
- Release Date: 2024
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Just over a month ago, Massive Entertainment released a game set in James Cameron’s Avatar universe, and now they are nearing the release of their game set in the Star Wars universe. The developers have decided to move away from the theme of Jedi and focus on the adventures of Kai Vess in the period between “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.” The final release date will be announced later, but if we believe preliminary information from the Disney website (which has already been corrected), the game should be released at the end of this year.
The Wolf Among Us 2: A Telltale Series
- Genre: Adventure
- Release Date: 2024
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, Switch
After the closure of Telltale Games, the development of the sequel to The Wolf Among Us continued within the walls of AdHoc Studio, which consists of former Telltale Games employees. Last year, part of the development team was laid off. It is currently unknown what stage the sequel to one of the best games by the studio is at.
Avowed
- Genre: RPG
- Release Date: 2024
- Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S
Avowed is part of the Pillars of Eternity universe, but this time we will dive into an adventure from a first-person perspective. In terms of mechanics, the game closely resembles Dark Messiah and, of course, TES V: Skyrim. Although the announcing trailer had a darker atmosphere, we are eagerly awaiting what surprises the kingdom of Eora has prepared for us from Obsidian Entertainment.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
- Genre: Action, Adventure
- Release Date: 2024
- Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S
The continuation of Senua’s story is arguably the most anticipated current release from Xbox Game Studios. The first part almost revived investors’ faith in AA category games. In the sequel, Senua will continue her fight against inner demons and become a participant in events worthy of legends and myths.
The upcoming Xbox Developer Direct will show a new trailer for the game, but the final release date is unlikely to be announced until the summer gaming presentations.
Silent Hill 2
- Genre: Action, Adventure, Horror
- Release Date: 2024
- Platforms: PS5, PC
The remake of the cult Silent Hill 2 is being developed by the Polish studio Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Medium), and if insider information is to be believed, most of the studio has already moved on to another project, leaving a small team to polish the project. The game was also included in the current releases in a PlayStation trailer, so we are expecting an imminent announcement of the final release date.
