The full post over on the official website notes that:
This means we will be delaying the start of early access on PC by a couple of days. Wayfinder will launch on Steam and Founders Packs will go on sale August 17 at 12 p.m. CT with PlayStation to follow.
And in follow ups, both Digital Extremes and developer Airship Syndicate confirmed that the decision wasn’t taken lightly. Whether that means some serious problems need to be addressed or simply that bugs require some extra time to polish, we don’t know. Gamespace will be asking for more details on the cause of the unexpected delay. While we’re hyped for Wayfinder and have some of the Founder’s packs in our sights, the unexpected pause on Early Access shenanigans is probably the right way to go. Wayfinder is about to jump into Early Access. This isn’t a full version 1.0 launch. As such, problems are expected. This one just jammed its way into the works a little sooner than anybody anticipated. The extra two days does give you time to find out exactly this battle is all about in our Wayfinder preview, and why you should keep an eye on this colorful new MMO.
