Sign Up For The Fortnite Android Beta Now!

If you are already playing Fortnite Battle Royale on PC, PS4, XBox One, iOS, and/or Switch but still can’t get enough, then you’ll be glad to know that Epic Games announced that its Fortnite Android Beta went live today!  Anyone with a Samsung  Galaxy device (S7 or Tab S3 or greater) can jump in and play now, with players using the Tab S4 or the upcoming Note 9 (shipping Aug. 24) receiving the new Galaxy outfit for free.

To get started, grab your Galaxy and head over to Fortnite.com and hit the “Play Free Now” button which will take you to the download page. The Beta is not available through the Google Play Store, so you may have to jump through a couple of hoops to download and run the installer. Once you have the game installed, you may run into a known issue where the game tries to block access and prompts you to join a waiting list. If this happens just close the app and restart a time or three, and eventually it will let you in (I was able to get in on the first try).

Wear the Galaxy outfit as you crush iOS players in cross-platform play.

If you are wondering whether your Galaxy is new enough to get you into the Beta, here is the list of devices getting immediate access:

  • S7 / S7 Edge
  • S8 / S8+
  • S9 / S9+
  • Note 8
  • Note 9
  • Tab S3
  • Tab S4

Owners of other Android devices can’t play just yet, but they are able to sign up on the Beta waiting list. Over the next several days, as Epic Games adds support for other devices, players will be invited into the Beta in waves, with instructions on how to download the beta sent out as they are granted access to play. Other devices set to gain Beta access include:

  • Google: Pixel / Pixel XL, Pixel 2 / Pixel 2 XL
