BattleBit - two players on a boat

BattleBit Remastered just dropped the version 2.0.0 update, meaning this week it’s going to see a bunch of changes in the online phenomenon.

Shooters come in all shapes and sizes, but BattleBit is about to geta little bigger with the new version 2.0.0 update. While plenty of us have been casting spells and dungeoneering, SgtOkiDoki has been crafting the latest reason to pick up and play this low poly alternative to Battlefield.

Update 2.0.0 brings a whole raft of changes to BattleBit’s massive campaigns. Expect to see reworked battlefields, expanded maps, UX changes, class adjustments, balance changes, API introductions, and a brand-new boat.

battlebit patch overview

District, MultuIslands, Wakistan, Namak, and TensaTown have all seen updates and tweaks. District has been reworked, while the Wine Paradise location has had both a rework and an expansion. Prepare for huge changes around this battlefront. Areas that contain a shore, seafront, or river, you can take advantage of the new RCB90 boat. While the patch notes don’t go into detail on this, it appears to be a multi person patrol and attack craft with a powerful mounter turret on the top that should mow down enemy combatants along the shoreline. Back on t solid ground, check out the new barbed wire defense, used to slow down enemy advances. Alongside the physical changes, players an also expect updates to the progression and UX to be pretty noticeable. Developer notes also noted that the progression curve will ease after level 15 to keep consistent time to level up. This is intended to decrease the time commitment and XP required to reach level 200 on average. Staying in the fight might be a bit easier now that bandages apply self-heal, even when bleeding, gaining +40 HP for each bandage used. This applies to all classes.

This is barely the start of the changes for version 2.0.0. A whole heap of class and weapon balances are now in place, a ton of tweaks and bug fixes also slot in. The best place to hear about all the updates is the patch notes on the Steam Store page. If you haven’t experienced the viral sensation that is BattleiBt Remastered, then check out the trailer for this low poly chaos that makes EA’s big budget war games look like a slow day in the park.
