Recently, Halo: The Master Chief Collection saw a bit of a testing delay. In response, it seems, 343 Industries has dropped footage from the Halo: Reach Campaign.
During a busy Mixer steam, 343 Industries introduced gameplay footage of the upcoming PC title and gave fans of the iconic sci-fi shooter a look at what they are going to see in the upcoming testing program. After an initial delay, Community Director Brian Jarrad confirmed that the early testing schedule is now set to drop during June. Players that sign up to the Halo Insider program will get first shot at testing the newest iteration of the Halo franchise.
The footage for Halo: The Master Chief Collection that 343 unveiled gives players a glimpse at the massive graphical leaps that come with the move to PC. The play through gives Spartans a glance at the open world guncraft, and how 343 has adapted the sniping experience for mouse and keyboard. You can check out all the weapons and vehicles on show in this gameplay here.
The live stream covers much of the information dropped in the latest development blog post and highlights the challenges of making Halo: The Master Cheif Collection feel like it belongs on PC. While obvious changes like higher resolution and a generational leap in frame rates are obvious, other factors come into play. Keyboard and mouse controls, FOV options, and even progression systems all get a look in. The blog post dives even deeper, covering the development cycle, matchmaking, and even the Xbox implementation of this Halo game.
It is unlikely that this is all we will see of Halo: The Master Chief Collection prior to launch. Microsoft has a huge presence at the upcoming E3 conference. As a major title for Redmond, the Halo franchise is likely to get some top billing. You can sign up to test The Master Cheif Collection at the official website and keep it Gamespace when E3 invades our news feed.
