Sogetsu Kazama Joins Samurai Shodown in new DLC

Say hello to Sogetsu Kazama, the newest character to join the roster for Samurai Shodown Season 2.

Japan’s SNK has just dropped a brand new character into the mix as part of Samurai Shodown’s second season DLC. Players who took up the challenge and grabbed the Season 2 DLC pass can pick this new samurai across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

A New Player Appears

Existing players of Samurai Shodown might recognize Sogetsu. As the older brother of current competitor Kazuki, Sogetsu already has some obvious investment in the outcome of this showdown. Due to his cold and decisive demeanor, Sogetsu has never faced a challenge he has not been able to overcome in the end. Despite the character’s cold front, he cares deeply for his siblings and will wield his hydrokinetic power to defend them should any trouble arise.

Samurai Shodown is just the latest in a series of successful worldwide fighting games from SNK. This version of the franchise hit Stadia and consoles 2019 and has mixed up the fighting market of late, swapping in plenty of swords wielding action to the more traditional juggling genre of the Tekken series and overzealous anime attacks of games like DragonBall FighterZ.

The addition of Sogetsu is technically listed as part of the Version 1.7 patch which includes a button preview function, minor tweaks, and a whole raft of balance changes. You can grab the full details over at the Samurai Showdown website. You can get a glimpse of this new watery warrior in the latest trailer for Samurai Shodown, and hopefully, get an understanding of how this character handles. If you have the most recent Samurai Shodown DLC pass then Sogetsu is available today across the globe. He is also available as a one-off purchase at £5.99/$5.99 digitally through the Nintendo eShop, Playstation Store, and Microsoft Game storefronts.
