Tower of God Clambers Onto iOS and Android with a New Game

Tower of God: New World is the latest anime spin off turned game now available for free on iOS and Android, thanks to Netmarble.

Netmarble, the South Korean gaming giant, just announced yet another mobile title in the seemingly endless run of anime spin offs on mobile. Following the likes of Bleach, Demon Slayer, and One Punch Man World in our headlines, is Tower of God. This uniquely popular webtoon turned anime garnered something around 6 billion views across the globe after the likes of Crunchyroll brought it to screens. Now fans will be able to reunite with familiar characters and doo battle while they wait on a second series coming to monitors and front rooms. Tower of God: New World take place in the same universe as the big screen incarnations, but this time players can take a more active role in this story. With a new narrative, they can ascend the Tower and join Twenty-Fifth Bam – and 69 characters – as he fights his way through the Tower. While I loved the animated series for its gorgeous artwork, great writing, and superb score a tower dungeon does translate into a game easily enough.

Netmarble’s newest promises players fast paced battles and a unique slot system. Slots allow players to power up a particular team space instead of a specific character. This eliminates the grind of levelling up new characters – they can immediately be placed into the slot to become powerful teammates. Of course, that doesn’t eliminate the wealth of character to collect, the multitude of daily events and rewards, as well as the expected micro transactions. Still, there are plenty of launch rewards and a 7 day check in with a main character selection chest waiting if you want to give the game a try.

I’ve got an anime watch list longer than my flight time to Gamescom coming up, so hopefully this adaptation will find some time in my watch list. You can check out Tower of God: New World over on the official website, or grab it via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or PC focused Google Play Games Beta.

After an early indoctrination into PC gaming, years adrift on the unwashed internet, running a successful guild, and testing video games, I turned my hand to writing about them. Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
