Niantic’s free to play AR mobile game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is now available for download and play. Wizards from the US and UK jumped right in and spent over $300k in the first 24 hours of the game’s live, according to SensorTower.com. Around the same time, the game has seen around 400k installations.

The site compares the results of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite release to the legendary launch of Pokemon GO:

It took about 15 hours for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite to reach No. 1 for free app downloads on the U.S. App Store. Niantic’s previous release, Pokémon GO, debuted at No. 1 when it launched on July 6, 2016. It was installed approximately 7.5 million times in the U.S. during its first 24 hours; it did not launch in the U.K. until seven days later.
