Everspace 2 just got a huge new update across all platforms and revealed what’s coming in 2024.
Everspace 2, the stunning interstellar space shooter from Rockfish, seems to be doing pretty well on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles. Blasting off desktop monitors and onto consoles rounded up more than 1,111,111 pilots on Microsoft’s Game pass and tops off more than 400,000 copies of this sci-fi adventure sold. This is something that Rockfish has decided to celebrate with a free Armed and Dangerous Update.
Players across all platforms can expect to try out some new challenges, test new items, and generally blow up more shiny space stuff with a a large free update. Available right now across PC, Mc, and console, payers can use new set items, perks, equipment modifiers, and community-requested features. A new trailer gives a brief overview of what’s available, although we’re told to expect an official blog to flesh out the specifics.
Mac OS Support and more
In addition, Steam and GoG now have support for macOS pilots, meaning you’ll be able to drop bootcamp and blast off into your steam library without a moment’s hesitation. We’ve not had a chance to check what the performance is like on intel or mac Silicon yet, but it’ll be interesting to see. Beyond the immediate update, Rockfish also released a roadmap of what’s coming across the rest of 2023 and 2024. Expect bug fixes, ship upgrades, another free update, and a Gamescom 2024 appearance.
Retail Therapy
Finally, fans looking to get their hands on Everspace can get a boxed copy on October 3, 2023. Maximum Games will release an out-of-this-world retail edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S worldwide. The Everspace 2 Stellar Edition comes packaged in an attractive steelbook along with a 64-page artbook and digital soundtrack download. Pre-orders are available now through most major online and high street retailers. For anybody looking to jump in now, Everspace 2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, GOG, and the Microsoft Store for $49.99 USD / £44.99 / €49.99 / ¥6930 as well as through both Xbox and PC Game Pass as a Play Anywhere title.
