Kingshunt is about to bring a fiendishly unsettling fantasy world to life when this arena brawler invades on 3 November.
After pressing play on an announcement trailer and being assaulted by unsettling clowns, vicious minions, and a thrash metal guitar track, I’m all in for Kingshunt. Publisher A List Games and Finnish developer Vaki Games have just announced that their own odd take on arena competition is coming to Early Access on 3 November 2022 for $19.99 or local equivalent.
The best way to get acquainted with this vicious victory march through the twisted halls of horror is to take a look at the trailer above, but there’s more to this upcoming bout than just a dark façade. Much like Metal Hellsinger, this metal monstrosity is more than col demons and big crunching riffs. Players trying out Kingshunt will find themselves dropping into a third-person competitive experience that mixes real-time melee and magic combat with strategic tower and minion summoning.
Fifteen characters, described as heroes, will enter the fray from day one. A choice of melee, ranged, or utility playstyles will be on offer. These all provide plenty of avenues to conquer the opposing team of 5, by controlling strategic locations and/or destroying the enemy base. With the option of gruesome defeat or victory, it will be up to teams to work together, gather bonuses, and push back the opposition. While Kingshunt isn’t quite SMITE yet, it’s definitely hoping to stand out from the competition. Check out the trailer above and head over to the Official Steam Store for more on this manic new misadventure, or even join the ongoing playtest too.
