Vin Diesel On A Giant Chicken Could Only Mean An Ark 2 Announcement

Studio Wildcard has unveiled details of its upcoming plans for future adventures alongside a simply stunning new trailer for Ark 2.

If you had thought you’d seen everything gaming could offer then I present the new Ark 2 trailer for your consideration. Strap in and prepare for prehistoric action and Vin Diesel riding a dinosaur. Dropped as part of the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, this new trailer stars the aforementioned celluloid megastar as protagonist Santiago and Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as the voice of Santiago’s daughter Meeka. The teaser is the first real glimpse we’ve had at what to expect from the follow on to the massively successful Ark: Survival Evolved.

While we know that the latest addition to this franchise will still require some finely tuned survival skills and feature plenty of ferocious beasties, the second in the Ark series will also feature plenty of improved and new ideas. Characters chasing through the world will get advanced traversal mechanics including mantling, free-climbing, parkour, sliding, and swinging, while combat will be improved to give a Souls-like melee experience.

Alongside the newly improved systems, players can expect a huge and chaotic open world where dynamic natural and unnatural occurrences are always happening across the game world, independent of your presence. Out in the world, you’ll need to hunt and gather, using the component-based crafting system to cobble together new contraptions from a range of possible combinations, so planning and ingenuity will pay dividends. The best way to get an idea of what to expect is to take a glance at the latest trailer for Ark 2 now and find out more on the official website. Ark 2 is due to launch in 2023, simultaneously on Steam Early Access and as a console launch exclusive for Xbox Series X|S and with Xbox and PC Game Pass on Game Preview.
